About Me

Michael Alford is a prize winning muralist and has specialized in murals and trompe l’oeil painting since 1986. Working closely with architects, designers and private clients, he creates original designs to complement any decorative scheme, traditional or contemporary. He paints in oil and acrylic media, and his mastery of marouflage, a classical technique of applying painted canvas directly to walls, allows him to complete even very large projects off-site. His paintings currently decorate many notable hotels, restaurants, public spaces and private homes in Britain, America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.

As well as his closely observed cityscapes and figurative pieces in theatrical settings Michael is noted for his extensive mural work which has brought him awards (see below).
